Polished Nail Bar to overhaul South End location, open in Lake Norman area

Polished Nai lBar Charlotte NCPolished Nail Bar plans to completely renovate its South Boulevard location in April and open in Huntersville’s Northcross Commons in June. Another location at Waverly, a new development coming to South Charlotte at Providence Road and Ardrey Kell, is planned for 2016.

“With the expansion into the Lake Norman area, we have the opportunity to share what the Polished experience is all about,” says owner Sonny Kim. “Since South Boulevard is our flagship location, we want it to be just as modern and energetic as our other locations.”

The South Boulevard location’s renovation will include a revamp of the manicure bar and new luxury pedicure chairs. A new, state-of-the-art air filtration system will capture debris as it’s filed off the nail and improve air quality for Polished Nail Bar’s clients and employees. Polished will add a water filtration system to remove impurities and provide antifungal-infused water for services. “This filtration system will allow us to provide our customers with an even higher level of sanitation,” says Kim. The renovation is expected to be finished in April.

In Huntersville, Polished Nail Bar plans to open next to Whole Foods in June. “We’re pulling out all the stops on the design for our first nail bar in Lake Norman,” says Kim. “It will represent a new era for Polished Nail Bar.” The Northcross Commons location also will feature the state-of-the-art air and water filtration systems, along with 19 luxury pedicure chairs. It is scheduled to open in June. Northcross Commons is located just off exit 25 on I-77 at 9121 Sam Furr Road, near Birkdale Village.

At all locations, Polished will introduce the latest UV-3 gel polishes cured with LED lights, which offer a quicker curing time and are more energy efficient.

Polished Nail Bar owners Kim and wife Haley Tran brought the nail bar concept to Charlotte’s South End in March 2006. They have opened three other locations: Myers Park, next to the Manor Theater; SouthPark, in the Allen Tate Building; and Stonecrest, next to Target.

Polished Nail Bar is open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

When is your Huntersville Salon opening?

Hi Melissa! We don’t have an actual date nailed down just yet. With construction, any changes that occur with permits or scheduling contractors and such can change when the work is actually completed, which affects when we can open. We’re aiming for mid-to-late August right now. Keep your eyes peeled on the blog or our social media for updates!
