It’s summertime, and open-toe shoes are all around. From flip flops to wedges and platform sandals to Birkenstocks, pedicures are being shown off every day. Keep your pedi looking its best for as long as possible with these simple steps: Opt for platform heels over flat sandals or flip flops. According to an article in InStyle, podiatrist Johanna Younger says that flat sandals allow dirt and cracks appear on heels and keep your feet from getting the right support. Moisturize daily. This wards off calluses as well as keeps skin and cuticles hydrated, which in turn keeps your pedicure looking nice for a longer time. Even though you should moisturize daily, don’t use scented lotion on your toes. Synthetic fragrances have been known to make nail polish crack. There’s not a lot to report on our Waverly salon in south Charlotte, but we did want to share a few photos with you. Work is moving along nicely, and we still hope to open this new location in the next couple of months.
